Welcome Sally!

Castine Touring Company introduced its newest touring vehicle, Sally, with a party on the town common on Sunday, June 23. Her sister cart, Scarlett, was there to officially welcome her to the town.

Sally was made possible by generous donations from an anonymous donor and the Light Family. She gets her name from her benefactor, Sally Light, who was an active member of the Castine community. Members of the Light family were present to accept a thank you gift and honor their family members’ memories.

After a few words from CTC Treasurer Billy Anthony, community members and as well as a local news reporter took Sally for a drive around the peninsula.

During the summer season, Castine Touring Company provides more than 1,000 tours to visitors. The addition of Sally will give visitors an opportunity to reserve a tour and not wait when a guide is giving another tour. With all seats facing forward and the latest electric vehicle technology, riders will enjoy a smooth ride around our historic seaside village.
